Awards and contesting

Unlike many other radio amateurs, I am not really interested in serious contesting or other forms of amateur radio competitions. First of all due to time constraints, as in: too many hobbies and a family life. Secondly because currently I only have a 10/20/40m End-Fed hanging low from the roof window so even if I want to get a good contest score, I lack the suitable antenna(s).

Nevertheless I will be on the air during some of the contests as it is nice to see/hear what is happening. Also to give other stations at least one extra counter station to work with. So if I participate, it will be pure for fun. At least on my side 😉

Since I haven’t had my license for that long, I haven’t had much of a chance to make the required QSOs for certain achievement awards. There won’t be many awards in the beginning but I will proudly display every one I receive here.
